Functional Parts episode 072 ’6-Year Anniversary’ w/ guests Andrey Mikhailov & Carey Davila (October 2011).

For the 6 Year Anniversary of Functional Parts I decided to do a short retrospective of the last 7 years of my Radio DJ career.

The first mix that aired on my show is my first official Progressive House Demo. It was recorded about 7 years ago LIVE on CDJs. This mix got me my own radio show on www.DI.FM, as well as a residency at Spundae when it was still at Circus Disco (The hottest club in Hollywood at the time). The mix is titled Electric Funk.

The second mix is episode 051 of FP. This episode was a favorite amongst a lot of my listeners and it is a great representation of where my style was almost two years ago.

This month I am hosting my show from Jakarta, Indonesia so I am unable to record a new mix. I am currently in Jakarta collaborating with one of the top DJs in Indonesia Osvaldo Nugroho as well as preparing for a gig at the hottest club in Jakarta – Club X2. I have a lot in store for 2012 and I can’t wait to share it with all of you!

Carey picked up the decks over the last year and has increased her skill at such an extreme rate that it verges on frightening. This new set is absolutely sick and for a first official mix it is insanely good! She is the newest member of the Storm team and will be filling in for me at Avalon while I am in Indonesia. So proud of this new DJ! Keep an eye out for her.
